Although the weather is beautiful outside, now is the time to start planning for next year’s heating season.  Our 2017/2018 pre-buy and budget plans are now available.  Below is a breakdown of the plans we offer:

Cash Budget Plan:  This plan offers you the opportunity to spread out your payments for the entire year without being locked into a cap or fixed price program.

Capped Budget Plan:  This plan offers a capped price coupled with a downside price protection (Non-refundable fee applies).  Under this plan your price will never go above the cap price and if our daily cash price is lower than the cap you pay that price!

Fixed Budget Plan:  This plan is a fixed price budget plan.  The price will neither go up or down.  No fees are assessed and you know exactly what you are paying for fuel the entire heating season!

Pre-Buy Plan:  With this plan pay for your fuel immediately and you will not have to think about it again until next year!  The price is locked in and we will make automatic deliveries until the fuel is used up or the contract expires.

We look forward to working with you to determine which plan best fits your needs.  As always, if one of these plans is not a perfect fit give us a call or stop in to see what other options may exist.

Summer is almost here and now is a great time to have your heating system cleaned, tuned and evaluated.  Most people wait until the heating season is upon us to schedule a tune-up or address issues with their system.  That’s ok, but the best time to get work done is now when we are not busy and have plenty of open appointments to better meet your scheduling needs.  You will also have the peace of mind throughout the summer that your heating system is all set and ready to go when things turn cold this coming fall.

Call today, mention this blog and save 10%!  Tune-up must be completed by 6/30/17 to take adavantage of this special.

What Happened To Our Facebook Page?

Tidewater Oil Blog

Many of you have asked why we deleted our Facebook page and created a new one.  Well the simple answer is we didn’t.   Facebook deactivated our page without notification, and although we have tried to find out why on numerous occasions, Facebook has not responded to us.  However, we think they took the page down because it was initially setup as a personal page versus a business page.  (Matt is taking the blame for that.  He is not Facebook savvy!)

Although it is frustrating to lose years of history, reviews and over a 1,000 friends, we have a new page and are rebuilding what we lost.  To do that we need you to like our new page!  Last week we kicked off a campaign on Facebook to get back to 1,000 likes.  To encourage everyone to like our page and get others to as well we are going to give away 100 gallons of #2 oil, a boiler tune-up ($145 value) and other prizes once we get back to 1,000 likes!  Like our page today and you are automatically entered into these drawings.

After spending nine and a half years at our current location on Church Street we are moving in the coming days to our new address at 17 Airport Rd in Belfast.  It is only a mile and a half from our current office and easily accessed from Outer Congress Street.  We will be posting directions to our new office on Facebook and at our Church Street location.  If you have questions please call us and we will help direct you there.

Although we have enjoyed our time on Church Street, we are excited about this new adventure and the opportunities it presents.  We look forward to seeing you at our new office and for your continued business!

It is hard to believe, but 10 years ago TODAY we made our first oil delivery!!!  What started out as a cash fuel business in Matt’s dining room has grown into a full service oil and propane company today.  A lot has changed from those early days, but our focus on offering the best Customer experience at a competitve price has not.  We are very thankful for each Customer we have met and served over the past ten years!  Without you we would not be celebrating this milestone, nor would we be looking forward to what the next ten years will bring.   Thank you for your continued support!

Our lives are busy and often times we over look things that are so critical to the way we live our lives.  One of those areas we see people forget about on a regular basis is their fuel tanks.

Did you know that condensation forms inside of tanks, that coupled with sludge buildup can significantly decrease the life of your fuel tank?  This buildup of sludge and water can lead to problems with fuel quality or worse yet a tank that begins to leak due to corrosion.

Fortunately, there are companies who have figured out how to protect your tank, improve fuel quality and increase the life of your fuel tank.  Carter Chemicals of Westbrook Maine has developed and carries multiple fuel additives for any situation.  We wanted to support a Maine based manufacturing business so we tested the products.  The results have exceeded our expectations and we now offer their full line of products.  I want to highlight the products we utilize the most:

Arotec 275 –  Used to prevent #2 fuel from gelling, disperses water and keeps fuel flowing in subzero temperatures
K-1 Plus – Disperses water/sludge, prevents corrosion and provides stabilization for long-term storage
Arotec 300 – Breaks up sludge, emulsifies moisture and slows the rate of corrosion inside the fuel tank
Aronol – Raises cetane level in diesel fuel, improves fuel economy, lowers pour point to reduce gelling issues and increases fuel lubricity (We use this in all diesel vehicles year round!)

For more information or pricing please call us at 338-4739.
