FUEL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
Paying for heating oil can be a challenge for many in these tough economic times, but area fuel assistance programs can help to ease this burden. While not intended to cover your entire heating costs throughout the season, these programs are a valuable resource in meeting your heating needs. To find out if you qualify for fuel assistance, contact the fuel assistance program in your area.

For the past eight seasons we have also accepted Joe-4-Oil vouchers. The Joe-4-Oil program is administered by Citizens Energy, a non-profit agency in Massachusetts. This program typically begins to take applications in late December to early January. This program operates on a first come, first serve basis. If they decide to again offer the program for this upcoming heating season, we will update our website and add a note on our delivery slips at which point you will need to call in to apply. Thousands will be calling so be patient and keep hitting redial. If you are fortunate enough to get through and qualify you will receive a voucher for 100 gallons of heating oil or kerosene at no charge to you. For more information you can also visit their site at Citizens Energy. Citizens Energy can be reached at 1-877-563-4645 once the application process has begun.
Please keep in mind that many towns/cities, churches, and civic organizations offer assistance. We work with countless organizations in an effort to assist you. Planning for the inevitable winter in Maine is always your best option. Don’t wait till the tank is empty or the cold weather is upon us. Plan ahead and be prepared.
