No Heat? You Might Need To Shovel!

Tidewater Oil Blog

With so much shoveling to do this winter, clearing the snow out from around your vent hood is easily overlooked.  However, if snow builds up around the vent hood it could lead to serious problems.  Many units today get the fresh air they need for the burner to operate effeciently from air intakes located in the vent hood.  When snow builds up it prevents the exhaust gases from escaping, which can then get pulled back into the unit through the fresh air intake ports. This can lead to poor combustion and if the problem persists often leads to a no heat situation.

Take a minute today and check to make sure your vent hood has plenty of clearance around it so it can operate correctly.  Call us if you have any questions.
